DSHS Competition gym, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

DSISD and DSHS are excited to invite the Dripping Springs Community

Come and experience our STEM initiatives first-hand with a day of engineering FUN!

  • Explore engineering through hands-on activities and exploring engaging demonstrations hosted by volunteers, student organizations and corporate partners.

  • Interact with students, faculty, and engineers from industry

  • Learn to code (two 45 minutes sessions)

Who will be there?

Pi-top : Access pre-built lesson plans in pi-topCODER. It’s the easiest way to deliver impactful content, providing step-by-step guides for computer science and STEAM skills and projects.

            Shopbot : CNC Demos

F1 in School Team: IAT: A new STEM initiative this year.  The team will be unveiling and testing their newly designed F1 model car on the new racing track in preparation for the Nationals Competition in June.  Other local teams have also been invited to come and test their cars as well.

4 X 4 Team: Turbo Tigers:  Also new this year – the team will be demonstrating the 4 X 4 car competing in World Finals this December in Abu Dhabi as part of the Land Rover 4x4 in Schools Technology Challenge.  Team members worked together to design and build a radio controlled 4-wheel-drive (4x4) vehicle that emulates what a real life 4x4 vehicle can do.

FRC Robotics Team: Team 6357: The Spring Konstant:  Demonstrating their latest robot (the robot recently used in the FRC World Championships in Houston).

BEST Robotics:  BEST Robot, and many other hands-on activities.  Come try performing various tasks with the Robot.

Engineering Department:  Sharing the engineering projects that they work on in the classroom, including the Earthquake Project.

Technologies used extensively from these competitions are from our FabLab:

3D Printer, CNC Machine and Wind Tunnel

               CAD Software

The projects on display embody the STEM initiative at Dripping Springs ISD
